About the artist
This smooth and solitary artist, kind as an aristocrat and modest as an ascetic, who fulfilled in his artistic process as many stations as art requires (from the obvious but unnoticed influence to the assumed influence; from the iconographic world repeated as automatism to the break with the visual past; from the deep psychic search to the expressive illness to build aesthetic health; from the liberated fantasy that reduces and purifies the visual aggregates to the catharsis where the methods of art obtain clarity; from the value of the plastic gesture as a first intention until the irreversible appearance of the unique, singular and proper painting), can repeat his centuries-old creed, written by Quevedo, adopted by Max as a banner and applied by Filemón Santiago as an operational guide: "nothing disappoints me: the world has bewitched me" .
