Leonardo Rodríguez

About the artist

Always in search of an inspiring natural environment, he develops a realistic painting, oil on canvas, where the main theme is the testimony of the passage of time in Nature. A close look at the protagonists of his works invites us to be silent spectators of the depths of these ecosystems, where everything changes slowly.

Resume

His first direct relationship with painting came from a very young age through his father, also a painter.


He began his art studies at an early age (11 years old) at the Experimental Artistic School of Santiago de Chile under the guidance of Professor Tito Calderón.


In 1999, he began studying for a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Chile, specializing in painting.


In 2006, he decided to retire from the city and live surrounded by nature, the main theme of his works. Until 2020, he lived in the forests near the city of Villarrica. Currently, he and his family are relocating to the desert landscapes of the Atacama Desert.


Since 2009, he has worked exclusively with sales and exhibitions of his works at Galería Animal in Santiago, Chile, participating in national and international exhibitions.

His most recent works are at the Galería Arte Actual Mexicano in Monterrey, Mexico. Most of his works are in private collections.
