About the artist
Roman Miranda
by Guillermo Sepúlveda
The atmosphere of our time appears very confusing,
but not so much that one can be convinced that this confusion does not have a clear dawn... to think and feel the noblest ideals of Humanity, the current is the great environment.
- Federico García Lorca
When a teacher recommends a disciple as someone who has not had to teach anything, and who also recognizes him as superior in the subject taught, in some way he is proclaiming the birth of a new teacher. This same thing happened to me when Rafael Rodríguez, the prominent painter from Querétaro, mentioned to me the existence of Román Miranda and the excellence he had achieved despite being still very young.
I have always followed with admiration the work of my friend Claudio Bravo, whose recent exhibition at the MARCO museum gave me the opportunity to enjoy, contemplate and analyze his achievements, and reflect on the solidity that drawing has represented in his monumental work. Román's drawings surprised me; The immediate reference was the kinship and quality that unites him with Bravo. I dared to say: the day Claudio meets your work he will be greatly excited because it will be reflected in your work. There are connections and parallels that guarantee continuity and validity to this medium of drawing, so delicate and scarce, especially now that many of the artists called "contemporaries", have forgotten about it.
The intimacy that this medium demands of the creator greatly captivates viewers and art lovers, giving us back the enjoyment of the enduring that these delicate and precise lines communicate, reconstructing the fragmented world we currently live in.
The artist was born in Mexico City in 1973; He currently lives in Santiago de Querétaro, Qro.
